I'm reading a book now, entitled 'The Romeo & Juliet Code' by Phoebe Stone. I ordered it last month, through my brother's books catalog (his class teacher gave it to him), it was meant for his school reading campaign though. I know, I'm a little too old for you know~ those kind of books that high school kids read ...but sometimes, the books cover are ridiculously attractive, it kinda drew me in and then I'm just unconsciously paying for it. Well, that always happen when I'm in a bookstores. :)
This book, sure is challenging. I spend almost five minutes trying to picture the story for the first three pages..the writer used way too much advance adjectives.. (it makes me feel stupid that I had to read the same shit over and over again until it makes sense to me) it was hard, may be cause it was (half) written in British. The setting was in America though during a war, her dad was an American man marrying a British lady, the daughter was raised in London, then she was shipped back to America due to the war, staying with her American relatives that she haven't met before.Thats how the story revolves, mysterious kind of novel as she had no clue on her parents absentee, where they went and why they sent coded letters to her uncle every now and then. The writer used all these British terms like 'jolly good','posh','putting my hair in plaits', 'plaits' is 'braids' in American English. Plus, thousands of words like that. You get the picture right?
/dizzy, bored yet I'm not giving up...just hundred more pages to finish. GREAT. I felt ever so please to finish this book.
I've read 'Barrack Obama : Change We Can Believe In' before and that was not even half as hard to understand.hurrrrr...
